Waiting & Delay
The hardest seasons are often the ones where nothing is wrong and nothing is happening.
Waiting has its own physiology — restlessness without a target, checking for news that has not come, a low hum of 'I should be further by now.' Unlike crisis, waiting gives you nothing to fight, which is exactly what makes it hard to regulate.
Scripture treats waiting as a discipline with content, not a pause between real life. The work is to stay present and faithful inside the gap — doing today's work well — rather than forcing a premature door or going numb.
A useful check: is anything still growing in you here? If yes, the wait is not wasted. If nothing has moved internally for a long time, it may be time to seek counsel about the next step.

Scripture
Quoted verbatim (King James Version, public domain). The notes beneath each passage are Ruach's educational commentary, not Scripture.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Ruach context: the closing line of a psalm about fear and confidence — waiting is paired with courage, not passivity.
Ruach application: 'be of good courage' sits inside the instruction to wait. Waiting is framed as something that takes strength, not something that happens while strength is elsewhere.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Ruach context: spoken to a people in exile facing a long wait, with no quick exit on offer.
Ruach application: note the order — flying, running, then walking. Most of waiting is walking: ordinary faithfulness at ordinary pace, without fainting.
